Intro with past builds.. (lots of pics)

Hello

New here. I am supposed to be picking up an XS400 today after work if everything checks out on it..

Looking forward to building it, it will be hardtailed of course..

Here are a few of my past builds...

First one was a VLX

Here is the before... traded a gun for it, and the only thing I bought was a seat..

Then I got a Triumph from my Uncle, it is a 1970 Tiger that he has owned since 1971.. He had not started it since 1986 and gave it to me in April.. I got $600 into it and it is my daily transportation....

and NOW...

Got this bike last weekend for $300 on Craigslist,

got the hard tail material for $125 Cut the stock handlebars into 9 pieces..
threw out 4 of them and welded the remaining 5 up to make the new ones..

cut the back of the bike off.. made a new rear 1/2,

and today stuck the tank back on for a sec to see how it would look...
Long way to go, but only have 8hrs into it,

and a total (including purchase price of bike) of $425 into it

Worked on the Magna a bit this weekend.
Not much, it was way too hot, but I think it's still decent progress since I only picked up the bike last Sunday


Extended the exhaust a bit, made a fake oil tank to hold the electronics, and added
cross bracing and end plates by the axle, and made a plate / light mount
Now I need to finish welding it all out while waiting on parts

Add the tail light to the final tally..

$300 for bike on Craigslist
$125 for hardtail tube
$20 for new tail light

Finished and sold the Magna and built 2 more in the past 3 months, lol

Had $750 into it, sold for $2200, lol

Third

Got a running 85 VT700 with a VT750 top end on Craigslist for $400.

and when I got rid of it

Had $800 into it, traded it even for a truck, didn't put anything into the truck, sold the truck for $3500, lol

and last My Harley

Still have it (rode it to work today) and have almost $3500 into it (most expensive one yet!)

The key thing is finding bikes for cheap that have papers(titles) only thing around here is junk with no papers Nice work!

Man, how do you find the time? My day have only 24h and I have big enough trouble getting my 2 bikes together.
But anyways, really nice work! The triumph and Sportser looks killer! (They all do)
