Parts compatibility

I've got an 82 xs400 sj that I'm in need of lots of parts for. Mostly the rear wheel, hub, drum brake and final drive sprocket. But also I need clutch and brake levers with cables and a throttle cable and handle.
I am having no luck finding a parts bike of the same model as mine (within a 20hr drive anyway).
I understand I should be looking for another sohc model but I'm not sure which parts would work between models.
Does anyone know of a good website to check part compatibility between models?

Boats.net and partzilla are both pretty good for cross-referencing parts.
They'll list all compatible bikes for any given part #.
