Hey guys, was reading through the tech manual and saw that the 1981 doesn't have a pilot or idle screw adjustment. Is there a way to alter/manage via jets or other means. If not is there a benefit to replacing the cab with a pre 81 carb. I will tinker later as I put on pods and exhaust. Finally if changed will bolt pattern, cable connections, etc be the same or more work to follow.

thanks
Gil

I beleive your right there is no pilot screw adjustment unless you mean air fuel adjustment then theres 2 of them on top of the carb. The idle adjustment is underneith the carb in the middle that you can adjust by hand. Then theres the sync adjustment ontop of the idle adjustment right in the center. You can replce the pilot jet inside the carb for upgrading.I have tinkered with anything pre 80 but there are some minor differences yes.Im almost certain a 80-81 carb will work on a older bike.
