Rain turns on neutral light

I got into a pretty good shower riding to work today. As I was getting further into it and getting wetter the neutral light started flickering, then getting brighter, and by the end of the ride stayed on full time.

Once the bike dried out the light was back to normal operation.

What is this? Good, bad, normal?

The neutral switch is a simple mechanism. If enough water got in there it could definitely complete the circuit regardless of the transmissions actual position.

It's only bad if something breaks, but normal? No. Your neutral light should only come on when you're in neutral

Look for damaged wires that are close to the frame: it's shorting to ground. Fix that and you'll be right as rain!
