Well, i have decided (mostly due to lack of money) to do the brakes myself. I started with the front disc brakes. I took the caliper off and now for the life of me i cant get it back on. My calipers seem different than the one in the manual because the pads are attached by a bar on the bottom of the caliper. Any advice is appreciated. Thx

you need to get the later type pads, there are 2 differnt ones if you have a later manual, they will be in the addendum in the back

What model bike and year do you have. I have just replace my front brakes on a 1980 yamaha 400 SG. Let us know and we will try to help you through it

silly question perhaps...but did you push the piston back in all the way before you stuck the new pads in there?
