Hey guys, picked up my first bike about a month ago. 81 xs400 special with a little over 8k on her for $500. Been riding around alot. The other day my right directionals decided to stop working, left blinkers work but if i put it on the right you can hear a buzzing sound but they dont work? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Tim

I had the same problem,
turned out to be a short in the rear lamp. (somehow this made both(front and back on the same side) not working)
Try to unconnect first the front, then the rear indicator.
This will determine which one is faulty. Then see if you can find the short.

The buzzing sound you hear is because the alternator doesn't get any resistance and therefore goes fast. :)

Hope this helps, ask more if anything is unclear!

Thanks for the tip, went out to the shed, moved the wires around for the rear lamp and got them to work. Figuring I have some frayed wires in the rear that were touching and shorting out. Going to look into it tommorow after work. Glad there working again, thanks for the help!
