Hi people!
I've got a 1980 xs250 that I've pretty much re built (apart from the engine).
After a while of searching on the web of how to do a basic engine test I finally got it running with thanks to drewpy.
Battery; negative to frame.
positive to both coils
points to neg of coils with a spur off for condensors
BUT it's stopped doing anything now! I've replaced the condensor, spark plugs and points, I've charged the battery and is reading 12.66v but still no joy.
Do you guys think that it is likely to be the coils that have had it? Drewpy did say not to leave them energized because they burn out but they are still reading ok on a meter..
Here's a link to the original thread - http://www.xs400.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10657
Here are some images of the bike in progress - http://www.xs400.com/forum/album.php?albumid=524
Any help would be awesome!
