    Vm34s on xs400 sohc

Well it starts with them, full bore runs ok..but way too much fuel as half the gas tank seems to be in the crankcase while trying to figure out the tune.

    Vm34s on xs400 sohc

And after reading and rereading that thread it is about setting up vm30s not 34s. Because of the blah blah blah statements. I know folks have used them on the Kawasaki 400s but I guess that information won't be found here...

    Vm34s on xs400 sohc

No the search didn't, and I knew that thread existed as I had read it before but then couldn't find it again. I swear using the search and uploading more than one picture on this forum is like black magic.. Many thanks.

    Vm34s on xs400 sohc

Topic is vm34s on a sohc. So I know most folks will say..blah blah blah too big for the Xs, but they are what I have.. What is a good place to start on jetting. Open cone filters, mildly ported head, open exhaust for now (will have some drop in baffles eventually) I have searched and did...

I have one on the parts bike, that has become closer to running than a parts bike so long answer I don't want to break up the bike, short answer no. As far as a frame with title yes, I have an almost complete bike. It's missing the wiring harness, and controls otherwise it's all there with...

    harness butchered by previous owner

Lots of folks use the combo, As they were standard on later bikes. I prefer separate because they are cheap at the junkyards here. Here's the get your bike running schem. Bypasses all the thing that aren't needed to at least get the bike running.

    Hello from the desert

Hilarious, I am generally a stellar mechanic but sometimes I get lazy and want answers spoon fed to me. This is my first bike build in about 13 years. Last bike was a r6 that I just rode until I wrecked it coming back from Chumash in 2007. Living in Tucson it is bike weather 90% of the time...

    Fuel Pump modification

Hobbs switch could regulate a low psi pump, if you could determine a cutoff pressure when the floats close, I.e. When floats are open nominal pressure is 2psi when they close pressure is 3psi. Hobbs switch rated for 3psi cuts pump. But there would have to be a pressure differential. Blow into...

so I was re looking at the Mikuni vm pdf, I am not sure why I kept saying 29 as it wasn't even listed..I was looking at the 28 for the 33mm interior bore..But either way external outlet is 40mm, interior bore of 33mm. Inlet exterior of 50mm not matching anything on the chart(it was late last...
