Ok so I have a 1982 seca that uses the mono shock and the engine as part of the frame. I was looking at a 1978 parts bike, the question is can I take the 1982 engine and put it in the 1978 frame? Has anyone else done this?

Ok so i have a 1982 xs400 Seca not happy with the frame and would like to get a different one. I have a title for this bike if i took the piece of the frame with the vin on it and put it on a different frame is this illegal or just how you do it? Thought i saw it on one of the bike building...

Ok so i have gotten my gs450 tank, a set of clubman bars, bar end mirrors and a new brake light. I still need to get a new set of hand controls, need to hard tail the back end, find a seat i like and im thinking of doing a fake oil tank for all the electronics. Will have to take some pics here...

hey can you snap some pics of what you did under the seat section, i have a similar build and trying to figure out how i want to do the hard tailing of my bike, just looking for inspiration.

Don't get me wrong appearance wise the bike was pristine but the is an oil leak a minor gas leak the carbs are causing problems the brake pedal is all twisted up. So basically the engines is fine and they are more or less minor but it's also a 30 year old bike I'm not going to get that much for...

Parts off an 82 Seca R, i have all the plastics off the sides and rear of the bike as well as the seat base, the inside of the storage area and the rear handles. In the near future i may also have a tank and handle bars. Let me know if you need anything off this bike and ill see if i need it...

hey heavymetal make sure you take lots of pics as you cut down your back end. I am looking to do the same thing to mine. I have an 82 seca as well and would love to hard tail it same problems with time and all. Would love to see how yours goes.
