52.5 pilot runing 2 vm34s? thats seems really big, however i had tossed around the idea of runing rich on the pilot to compensate for the lower air velocity due to the larger venturi on the VM34.
tomorow i am going to try:
Main 160
Pilot 30
Needle Jet P-4
same needle
the bike has K&N...
YAY! Just over 2 months and the bike is still in the garage apart. sad sad thing for a bike that i use as a comuter and spent almost 300 days on the road last year.
11-1115 are 22mm for the OD of the spring, the OD of the Forks are 34mm they work great for 150lb rider, as most of our springs are clapped out at this point in time (30 years or so)
Hey guys, so i am looking for a little help on the subject of running Mikuni VM34's on My XS400. I took a guess at the Jetting going off of what the XS650 Guys are running and i think i went way to lean. The bike will start with A (1) choke on then just revs to the moon. i cant get the idle...
My xs400 has a small leak on the countershaft sprocket sea. So i use motor oil on my chain; it gets lubed every time i turn it on. However on my other bikes i use BelRay chain lube.
Exhaust unpainted  i really wanted to leave them like this...i was just worried about getting hassled due to them not looking stock and being loud as hell.
and here is the teaser for the new build as it shows something i doubt anyone else on here has on there 400...sorry for the bad qual photo as i took it with the computer.
here is the bike after i finished my first build up on it....i cant find the photos of after i made a new seat the will be coming shortly.
custom exhaust (full one off kit headers and everything.)
1 1/8 pro taper handle bars
progressive suspension front springs
custom motion pro cables
