Fender / Rear Lamp Recommendations

Hey folks,

I'm new to this forum and motorcycles in general. I am a very hands-on/do-it-yerself type and have spent a lot of time working on my XS400. Is there a go-to web site for MC parts?

It makes it a lot harder to do after someone hacks the rear of the bike off But it can be done. I would look through the pictures section of the forum for ideas or google bobber, chopper, cafe xs400 and that also will give you a few more. Welcome to the forum.

I have done something similar. I kept the rear seat support arch in place, but I did cut the rear fender mounts off the frame. I attached a full fender at the arch. I also added a 1-inch wide by 0.083-inch thick piece of steel strap between the frame members to provide an attachment point for the front of the rear fender. One of the pictures depicts this bolt at the center of the new rear fender (just above the mud flap).

I installed a new side mount brake light and lic. plate unit on the left side of the rear wheel. This gives me a clean rear fender look.
