H pipe repair

i have a small split on one side of my H-pipe and was wondering if anyone has had success repairing this. I was thinking rubber cement or something along those lines.
I read something elsewhere about reinforcing the inside of the h-pipe with a pvc pipe that matches the inside diameter.
Are the H-pipes a rare item? I've been searching around and haven't seen anything somehow.
