changing all other bearings too except the steering head bearings. so front and rear wheel and sprocket carrier bearing. mines pretty done for. looks like the original unsealed bearing

whats the chances i will need the bush. only one side of the swing arm is wobbling. the chain drive side. the other side is pretty tight. wear on the bearings themselves?

So if I yank on the chain I see movement in my swingarm. I cannot find.replacement bearings/bushings for my bike. What does the maxim use? Bearings or bushings.and.where can you get them?

Ok a bit of a weird one as far as I know my.bike is a 82 maxim. Has the correct style wheels etc. But im led to beleive the maxim is a 5speed gearbox. My bike has a 6 speed gearbox? Could my engine be out of a later seca? Also what is the standard jet sizes across the range in a dohc engine...

My starter motor is finito. So what other starter motors if any fit.the 400 dohc engine

Just clicks nothing from the starter. Dash lights dont dim that much just a very strong click from the solenoid. Thanks btw pal

I am getting a click from the solenoid but nothing at all from the starter it was working 15 minutes previously??

Are the 40 t sprockets hard to come by??

Yeah im going for the 15/40 combo. Found a nos genuine yamaha 40 rear on ebay for $18

Tightened the nut that goes though the swingarm and that helped it a lot. It doesnt budge now

So long story short. Bought a 82 maxim 400 for $200 complete bike except for the carbs. Always wanted.to make a bobber out of one. So the process started. The bike hadnt ran in 9 years so my work was cut out. Complete frame strip and paint. A little engine work and a nice set of drag bars...

Ok guys so test ride on.the bike today. And the rear end.feels loose. Yanked on.the.chain and.I seen the whole swingarm moving in.its mounts. Can swing.arm.be rebuilt and.which parts do I need?

So my front sprocket is.very wobbly. What parts hold the sprocket onto the shaft? I see the sprocket. There is no bolts by the looks of it and.no retainer. There is 2 blobs of weld where the sprocket holes are. Question is why was this done and why is the front sprocket wobbling. Also...
