well, just joined up and i thought id share my little project. about 3 weeks ago, i picked this little bugger up for 300 bucks and decided that i could make a pretty nifty little bobber out of it.
on its way home
at home
started and ran when i got it
time for surgery
pulled the carbs for cleaning and general rebuild to fix a leak
d.i.r.t.y
naked
gauges deleted, cleaning up some electrical
the other day i rerouted the harness around to hide most of the front wiring. now i get to move on to bending and reshaping the rear section of the frame and extending the swingarm about 2-3 inches for better angles and overall length for a bobber type bike. I have a 5 3/4'' bates style bobber headlight all wired up using the existing factory wiring harness plugs and connections so its just a matter of fabbing up a mount for it to sit on.
For the exhaust, i plan on ditching the current pipes and bring both pipes to one side of the bike. gotta a fair amount of work left to do but im ready to get this thing done.
well thats it for now, ill check in when i have some more progess done
