1979 xs400 exhaust

Hi guys I have two very corroded silencers on my 1979 xs400 and am struggling to find replacements. I have found some 28" universal reverse cone silencers and I am wondering if they will be suitable to replace the originals without needing any carb mods.The originals are about 31" will the replacements be much noisier or effect running

No pipe will work like the OEM ones did. All you can do is get a set as close to what you want and see how it runs. You may only need minor adjustment with a aftermarket set.

try Sito, the distributor is in Scotland somewhere. Not Cheap though.

Amours is another one you can try, they are based in Southhampton

When you're choosing pipes look carefully at the one on the side stand side. Make sure there are no issues with clearance of the side stand and center stand. I think this can be an issue for some more universal designs.

Thanks for input regarding exhausts had no luck with drewpys suggestions so ordered the 28" universal reverse cone types from Feked.com good service arrived in 2 days £104 for pair including vat and carriage

fustrating when that happens
