Hi dudes, I figured I would start my build thread updates here since progress has been made.
I purchased a 1979 s400 for $50. The frame was bent, wiring was wonky, but the motor/carb work well.
I purchased a "Pro Builders" hard tail kit from VooDooVintage.com and had that steel welded on.
Right now, the bike is in pieces, but will hopefully be together within a few months?
anyways, here are some pics of when bought, and of the frame weld.
ill post more pics as more progress continues.
Any advice, critiques,

Holy fuckballs, you definitely weren't chopping a perfectly good stock frame there! Hope it all turns out good for you. You've already made a huge improvement.

UPDATE.
Finally got a axle for the rear to fit, and set the motor in yesterday... still need to mount it and mark the spot to weld brake stay, and foot rest mounts.
Its taking longer to do, partly cause its my first build, and second I'm cheap.
What y'all think? Critique away

Any progress is good progress! Looks like you're doin' nice work. I'm not that fond of painted engines but I like what you've done with yours. Keep going!
