New to this forum and the world of rebuilding a 1981 Yamaha XS400!

I purchased this bike from a buddy for 150$
it was completely disassembled right down to the frame and the parts where in a box...

I've been putting it all back together now and she is almost ready to start!
Just one small problem... I cannot figure out where these last to wires connect to!

Please help me.

I think the rightmost one is the safety relay, which kills the ignition if you put it in gear with the side stand down, but your images are so tiny it's hard to tell. Can you reupload them? Also here's a colour-coded wiring diagram so you can check what your stay wires are about.

I'm hoping this helps! Really would like to get this bike started.

I'm pretty sure the first picture is the pickup? I am stumped on where it connects to!
I am really new and trying my best to learn how this bike works when put together correctly.

Yep, those work better now. You're correct, the first one is the pickup. It plugs into the clip in your third photo. The second one runs to the generator, neutral switch, and oil switch, so look for a connector with light-blue, black/red, green and dark brown wires running back into the main wiring loom.
