82 xs400 seca bobber tank ideas

so i have an 82 xs400 seca that i have been converting into a bobber and my only hold up is what fuel tank will work with the wide back bone . i want the tank to sit down on the frame a bit but have yet to find a solution . any idea would be greatly appriciated

Might wanna look into a two piece tank and then fabricate a center section. That backbone is a PITA and I am in the same boat right now so keep me posted and let me know what you find...

I do like the curve of the headers, it gives the bike a good silouette. looking good so far

I have a '82 seca also,and am sort of bobbing it,or at least modding it,as the tank was trash,and I bought a '82 650 seca turbo tank,thinking it was the same,or similar.However,it was wider,and boxier than my other,so I'm going to toss around a few ideas.Took off the carbs this morning and to my surprise it was pretty clean.I've certainly seen running bikes worse looking,soooooo.later lha
