Looking around for spoked wheels that are compatible with my 83 maxim 400...cant seem to find any. Anyone ever done this?

I seriously doubt that you will find wheels that will just fit. Certainly going to be a custom solution. How custom is up to you and your budget. Some things to consider: Axle diameters, hub widths, rotor spacing on front wheel, rear brake (disk or drum), cushion drive or solid, sprocket spacing on rear wheel. That is just considering the hubs. Wheel diameter, rim width, spoke pattern are the next considerations.
I'm sure I've missed things. There are shops that specialize in building custom spoked wheels. I've heard of prices around $1k per wheel for high end components.
