are xs400 1979 and 1978 harnesses swappable?

    hi guys, I keep seeing these listings on ebay, but are they really the same? In need of a 1979 harness so i can re-do my wiring and could use a reference. Thanks

    I haven't done this or looked over the wiring diagrams with a detailed eye, but I think other than maybe some connectors with spade pins and not round pins, it should generally work. Just don't assume it will be plug and play. All of the correct wires will most likely be there and the wire colors will carry over, but you might have to do some minor connector crimps and plug installs on wire ends to get it to work like a stock harness.

    thanks! i finally found a stock one for 1979 at like 40$. will mostly serve as a ref because i want to re-do my wiring from a clean slate and dont miss anything.
