Ball and spring left over after carb rebuild.

Wow. Not sure how this happened. It's been a couple years since I last rebuilt these and I don't remember seeing this ball and spring. I found them on the catch paper after I reassembled my carbs.

Any idea where these are supposed to go? The bike is an '81 with the round brass floats.
