Brake light doesn't work intermitantly.

My brake light does not light up. On occasion it will light up with the brake lever but it kind of flicks on and off as i pull the lever farther. It does not light up at all with the foot brake. I suspect that some contact point has worn off or something. Is there a common part that wears out or something?

to answer the question....yes

my brake light won't come on for the front brake but does for the rear. guess we'll fix that when we rewire in the spring.

its like a T piece, which gets pulled onto a washer to make contact, that wears or gets dirty and doesn't make a connection.

try spraying with WD40, or I have stripped them before ( front one) and used wet and dry on the contacts
