Carb throttle butterfly valves

...Are they supposed to be such a tight fit? There's no way they aren't going into the shaft without hitting them with a hammer, there's even marks on the carb body of where its rubbing. It's tighter than a [fill in the blank]!

They go in at an angle; it's hard to describe.

Is there any way you can take photo so I can see what you're doing?

How did you remove them? I'm going to guess from the inlet if the carbs...

Bought the carbs disassembled. On my last set I rebuilt, the screw heads were stripped so I didn't take them out.
