Hey Guys! So glad that winter is finally over in Cleveland. Now its time to get out and enjoy the Bikes that we all love so much. Got my 81 XS400 out of the garage and went for a short ride yesterday. I noticed that it is a bit choppy at low RPM. Seems like it either On or Off on the throttle. I am thinking this may be a carb issue? It is not very smooth. Is there any way to smooth out the low RPM riding?

yes there is, clean those carbs! A good thorough cleaning and some fresh fuel will go a long way after winter

Also it could be that you need to lube your throttle cable or the spring on the carbs that holds the throttle closed (the one on the part where your cable connects to the carb)
