Hey all, I am going to clean and grease my hubs today. They are pretty nasty. Not sure what the part is called, I think its called the speedo drive. Anyway its the part of ths speedo that on the hub. It is filthy. How should I clean this. Can I throw it in a bucket of chemdip? Should I scrub it with soap and water?

What have you guys had success with?

Another quick question. When I took the rear wheel off I swear I heard a washer drop. All of the spacers are there. I have checked it with the manual, but do I need a washer between the nut and swingarm?

I can't speak to cleaning speedo drives, but yes, mine has a washer between the nut and the swing arm (probably to keep the nut from tearing into the swingarm when you tighten it.)

OK I thought it would be good to have a washer. Guess Im going to the hard wear store. As for the speedo drive, I just sprayed it out with a bunch of WD, then rinsed it out, and swabbed with cotton swabs. It worked pretty well.
