Compatible?

Are 1980 xs 400 cylinder and pistons compatible to put on my 1981 xs 400 heritage special?
The mounting holes on the cylinder all look the same but has any one ever tried this? Will the diameters and oil ports still match up?

Yes they should work.Bore and piston size are the same.
