Compression Test

I have the motor out of my bobber and it ran fine before removing it (other than a smoked clutch). Since it is out I would like to paint and detail it. My question is, can I compression test it now with it out and just use the kicker to turn the motor over?

no as you need to give it some effort over a few revolutions to get a good reading

Damn, well it ran well before teardown just thought ide double check before painting and polishing the engine.
