Whats up yo. I am a new owner of a lightly used (8,600 miles) '81 Special and a newb with bikes. I just fucked up my front caliper by using the brake lever when the front wheel/rotor was removed :banghead:, and now I cant get the piston back in, in order to separate the pads enough to fit around the rotor. Can someone please tell me what to do. Please? I just got my license and I just want to riiiddee. This is the last repair keeping me off the road.

If you need to buy yourself some room for the c-clamp, disassemble the caliper. It's easy and should probably be done anyway to clean and lubricate the sliding pin assembly. Good learning moment for you.

Well, that was easy. Thanks. I also just replaced the rear drum brake shoes and tires on both wheels, and now I'm hearing a very annoying squeek/rattle from the drum brake area with every rotation of the wheel. Sounds like it might have something to do with the springs in the drum. Any ideas?
