You could probably rig something up on the lever, may require a bit of drilling and then searching for a suitable switch.. Easiest is to buy levers with the switch already on it.
I tore the clutch switch off my lever a few weeks ago, was cylindrical and would have been perfect for ya. Never thought I'd have a use for it so I tossed it unfortunately. Check out Mouser, there has to be a million momentary switches on there
I don't know if the length would be correct but there are brake cables with inline switches built-in. Might be an option.
A "universal" switch like this might be able to mount somewhere on the front forks: http://www.guzzino.com/brliswun.html
Might be kind of hokey though.
It'd be a lot of work but this writeup is basically what Wolfe mentioned about adding a switch to the lever: http://faq.f650.com/FAQs/FrontBrakeSwitch.htm
Easier if a cylindrical switch could be mounted in the hole though.
Okay, I'll either go the easy way and buy a cheap perch off ebay, or I'll try and modify the current lever. Either way I'll probably end up buying a new lever.
