Looking for a headlight housing and a chromed front fender for my recently acquired 1979 XS400. Since I am new here, any suggestions as to where to look would be much appreciated.

For the headlight, the stock one was a 6.5" unit. One source that I used for a new one is 4into1.com. They have a "Build Your Own 6.5" Side Mount Halogen Headlight page that will get you the basic headlight in whatever finish and lens color you want. One issue with this one though is it does have some clearance issues with the pilot lamp box on the stock dash, so some hammering of the end of the bucket "cone" was needed to get it aimed properly.

I can't help with the fender, sorry. eBay would be my thought.
