hi all ive been reading this blog for a while now finaly im a member. about a month ago i bought a 1982 yamaha xs400 maxim off of ebay for $250 got it running with eas then i startet to cafe its been a challange ive been workin on it in my backyard and when it rains i through a tarp on it and go inside lol. this is not gonna be a show bike just a low budget junk man special lol. i got clubman cafe bars ans barend mirrors got rid of the air box and got foam pod filters an aftermarket all in one tail light /directionals i cut the exhaust shorter new sprockets and chain cut off a lot of unused brackets painted the frame yellw and sing arm black also i picked up a virago ajustable air shock to try out and im currently moding a 1978 hande cb200 gas tank to fit then im going to try to make my own seat/tail section but not today its raining

not much. bikes are ment to go fast. if u want HP might as wel swap over a 650 motor. but u could port and polish, k'n filters, rejet, remove all the unnessisary weight (even if its you that need to lose weight), could bore out and put in gs500 sleeves and pistons. these are old bikes and a 400 can be a great LITTLE bike. but HP is not it best. by all means if u just plain like the bike and have the money put a turbo on it. anything is possible whith the right amount of cash! but good look scoot so far.
