I can't see because of a headlight spring thing

Hello everybody! I had misplaced the spring/screw for the oem headlight. So I ordered a new set from the bandit but I just don't see how to install it. The spring is way to long to fit between the rim and the plastic nut. I don't see anything on the parts diagram that is missing so it's gotta be me just missing it. LOL please help, I can't see!!

Maybe post some photos of what you've got there. There is a spring that moves the headlight beam left and right. I can only assume that is what you are referring to...

Well I guess I can post a pic but it will be of a spring in my hand. You are correct it is the left/right adj screw. The question was, how does it install? The spring is way to long. The only parts the diagram show is a screw-spring-plastic nut. But how do they install?
I hope this clears that up.
