hi there, regarding the removed tach, i gid the same with mine but now find that the horn and fue other things dont work, im going to re mount the the same warning lights into the headlight basket. so that is fine but do you have any thoughts about how the wiring changed without the tach?

it didn't. The tachometer is mechanical, the warning lights are electrical. You probably just bumped into an already corroded connection and made it disconnect. Just check your wires and connectors, as well as your fuses.
