Hello All, for the last couple of years I've had an unhappy relationship with the factory petcock of my XS400. I was unhappy from day one that there was no way to turn the fuel off. Yes, I know how it works, and when it works it works fine but when it decides to not work as designed it is a real problem. I ride my bike most days so I need it to be dependable. I'm also a retired auto mechanic and I don't like working of things just to have something to do. While searching for a replacement petcock I stumbled on one on eBay from a guy in Iowa at Brown's Family Racing. He makes the adapter plate himself and the petcock has it's own sediment bowl. There is just enough room for the fuel hose to clear with the knob turned to the outside and not enough room to turn it any other way and still be able to use the choke. While I admit it's a little large, that also means it is easy to get to. It has positions for on, off and reserve and flows plenty of fuel!
