After cleaning out the rust from my tank I now have a leaky petcock. I'm a bit pressed for time so I figured I would replace it instead of messing around trying to repair it.
My old petcock has the fuel and vacuum lines in line with each other going straight down. Looking around on eBay and trying to source a new one elsewhere I can't find any other one like this. All the ones that say they are for a Maxim have the vacuum line coming out of the right side, so I bought one off eBay that said it is a direct replacement to try out. It's got two problems - the vacuum line comes right down into the choke and if I try to turn the petcock to on the knob hits the tank and is stuck between reserve and on.
Because I'm not seeing any replacement that looks like my old one, what do you guys use? Is there any way I can make this work?
