I need a starter cable for 77' xs400

I just bought a real nice cafe xs400, I want to have an electric starter installed (previous owner reconfigured the rear sets but get in the way when kick starting and my ankle is purple from hitting the set assembly)

Seattle Cycle Center gave me list of everything I need (starter, starter solenoid, chain, gear, clutch, gaskets and starter cable) I have found everything except the frickin' starter cable!

I have found a starter cable for an 81 xs400, does anyone know if this would work?

Any help or guidance on how or where to find the cable would be hugely appreciated

you could make a starter cable, Its just like and automotive battery cable but longer.

You know, I was thinking the same thing, especially since all the starters I've found (used or refurb) never supply the cables.
