I have a 1981 xs400 and had gotten it running after replacing the wiring harness. After riding for about 3 hours it decided to just up and die. Tried kick starting it but there is no spark, and the starter solenoid does not click when pushing the button. I tested the solenoid and it does work, along with the starter button, starter and visually inspected the components of the CDI (no burn marks, everything looked good). My buddies and I have been trying to get it to work but are at a complete loss with this. There was good continuity on the entire ignition circuit and on the general power circuit. Any suggestions would be great. We are currently inspecting the wiring harness for any shorts.
