Intake Leak

I'm having the same problem as goutes2006 with the high idle. Rather than hijack his thread I thought I'd start this one.

There are small cracks in the plastic where the carbs bolt onto the engine. Is there anything I can use to seal the leaks without having to replace both parts? I thought about using some type of epoxy or liquid electrical tape but wasn't sure if this would work. Any suggestions are welcome.

its all been tried and the best way is to buy new ones.

You can try to glue them over or smth if it satisfies you but the reality is that they will never hold and after a while you'll be facing the problem all over again.

I like to repair things, too and save as much money as I could but this is the part where you have to spend some coin.

Strangely, none of those fit on the '81-'82 rj seca DOHC models. lha

It's far better to replace defective parts at your home base and prevent trouble or breakdown when on the road away from home and tools. I know the importance of saving money but there is also a saying about being penny-wise and pound-foolish!
