International Motorcycle Show - 1981 XS400!

My wife and I hit the IMS here in Chicago. On the red carpet were many, many custom choppers that were part of a vote-based contest. All of them had a 22"-24" front tire with a blacked out engine and custom paint work ... blah blah blah.

Down the way I see a crowd. I walk up and find that everyone is staring at a PERFECT 1981 Yamaha XS400. It has the original charcoal green paint job. I took photos ;-)

I don't think these ever came with green paint but nice little xs that someone has done some chopping and polishing on. Its funny about these old bikes at shows Last year I took my 79 2f to a local bike show and took first place over 25k trikes

goes to show you don't need 25,000 dollar bikes to draw a crowd.pisses off the owners of the 25,000 dollar bikes though

they never are.i had a guy get pissed off at me once.he was ripping on my yammie and i said i probally paid less for my bike then he did for his tires.
