Wrong. XS650. You will have to do a lot of work to get it to fit from what I've read.

is there such a kit out there designed for the 400?
No the xs400 didn't have the stator issues that the xs650 had. There was a guy that was able to fit something in there but lots of mods where done to make it work. Try searching the forum for pma mod and you will find the thread.
