mag/ wire wheel interchangeable?

hey guys, new to the site and xs400's wondering if you could help me out. will the wheels off a 79 work on my 83? the 83 has disc and 79 has drum, just wondering what is needed to swap them. thanks

I think the forks and swingarm are different in the location of the brake hardware mounting.

i changed the forks, but i kept the swingarm
