I bought a new chain and sprockets set of ebay last week (530X102) and put it on but the old master link i pulled off my old chain wouldnt work... The pins weren't long enough after i put the backing plate on to put the clip in... So i went to a local shop and bought another thinking the old one was messed up. It has the same problem, i cant even get it to snap in the slots at all, you can barely see the lip that the slip is supposed to snap under. I don't know why but it really just doesn't fit.
The chain however, did come with this type of masterlink so i was wondering if anybody knew how it works? its pretty snug from the start, one sides tighter than the other so maybe i use a c-clamp to pull it together? or do i hammer it on? I am soo frustrated because i have NEVER had a problem with a master link before. :banghead:

I saw that on youtube but all of the riveting style ones on there came with washers, but is it the same for a non-oring chain besides that?
