Motor 400 xs in a 250 xs frame

Is it possible to put a motor of a 400 4g5 in a frame of a 250 xs without modification ?

The motor looks identical externally. I bet the only difference is the sprocket at most and possibly the ignition if you get a motor with electronic/TCI instead of points or vice versa. The carbs will be different of course; at least in terms of jetting, although I am pretty sure the xs360 carbs are just plain different.

Someone else can confirm!

The motor should fit the frame. Drewpy has a xs400 motor in his tracker's xs250 frame I think.

Ok thanks perhaps in the beginnig of April i will buy a frame of a 250 xs with his wheels and his fork for a little money.

I have the 400 in a 250 frame.

couldn't get the head on separately though so the whole motor had to go in one shot

later frames have lower rubber extensions but essentially all sohc motors will fit
