I used a sheet of aluminum for the pan, hand bent it, and moved the rubber stops from the original seat back for a little cushion. I cut and re-tapped the rear signals down too. I think it looks better than having them a mile out there.

I will probably finish the seat with a layer of black mat of some sort with a design cut into it......we'll see.

i think you may find the aluminum may bend when you hit the bumps whilst riding. doesn't look very thick, but I may be wrong :D
 
I agree with drewpy that it may be too thin. I used 16 gauge steel on mine and it still bent a bit after riding. Trial and error i guess.
 
Looks Nice, carefull it doesnt short out on your battery. Thats why I used wood-plus it doesn't flex, and is easy to tack leather to.
 
It was about an 1/8''. Wasnt too flimsy. The main thing I wanted was a shield from the battery and my jewels....This fit the ticket and was free.
