Looking through the manual I got on the internet it says 'Chain Type | 50 HDSS' then 102 link # and gives the chain free play.

My question is what the hell is a 50 HDSS?? I assume the 50 means the pitch(1/2 inch pitch correct?), but is the HDSS worth knowing about?? Some kind of weird measurement I haven't heard of?

Thanks!

With the google method I can only surmise that it is heavy duty stainless steel.
Or it is the sound the chain makes, High Definition Suround Sound.

The 50 is the chain size, but not 1/2 pitch. The HD means heavy duty, the SS may mean standard strength.
What you need in a more motorcycle type name. What you want is a 530 chain. The 5 is the pitch in 1/8's of an inch, the 30 is the width of the chain in 1/8's of an inch. So a 530 chain is 5/8 inch pitch, 3/8's inch wide.
They also make chain in other sizes. A 520, A 525.
Oreder a good brand of 530 chain at least 102 links long. If too long you can cut the extra off. Most like the O ring and X ring chains.
