Has anyone dealt with a noisy tachometer? Loud high pitch noise from the meter, goes away sometimes if i smack it. I've removed the tach cable and cleaned it out, and im 100% sure its the meter. I'm gonna open the gauge cluster sometime soon since i have to replace the backlight so i'd like to fix it at the same time.

Thanks!

Update: Well i opened it up and found no visible sign of damage, loose screws, or anything. I did notice the connector shaft was dry inside so i applied some dry lube. Been riding for few days and the noise seems to have disappeared.

is there any adjustment you can inside them? my needle rubs on the lense/cover, and stalls. i think the shaft that goes through the dial is out of alignment.

These parts are quite old, as they age the factory grease gets hard. This makes the meter noisy. taking them apart and cleaning out the old grease and a bit of fresh grease often fixes them.
