Oil Drain Plug Size

I'm new to motorcycles and I've recently bought a 78 XS400. I noticed oil was leaking from the drain plug. I decided to change the oil. As I was draining the oil I noticed the drain was cracked. I used epoxy to seal the outer part of the drain, but was afraid to use it on the threaded inner part of the drain. Along with the epoxy, I used a seal tape around the plug trying to get a better seal. No such luck, oil continues to leak out.

Please let me know...What is the size of oil drain plug? Thread size to.

I believe what you want is an M14 x 1.5 drain plug. I would get one with a magnet to collect metal filings since they don't cost that much more!

For sure, drain plug is pretty critical too
