Possibly lost "clutch" spring

So putting back together my 1979 xs400 yesterday and found myself stuck.

Now i believe there is suppose to be a spring attached to that. I can't find it anywhere in my parts. Also nowhere in my manual.

If anyone has a picture of theirs that would be really helpful as i could go down to my local parts place and pick out a new one.
