Question about rear master cylinder parts

I am almost done with my basket case 1977 XS 400 . Just have a question about the parts inside the rear master cylinder . In the diagram in the manual there is a box showing the parts from top to bottom inside - there is a spring , then a little cup , then is the next item the seal that goes around the piston or is that something else ? I did'nt take it apart or I would know . Any help would be great . Thank You all.

Looking at the same diagram I would have to agree, but my bike has no rear master cylinder.

I know some users on here have had a very hard time getting the rear master cylinder rebuild kits. That particular one is not manufactured anymore.

Is there any chance it will work without being rebuilt?

I think it will work with the parts I have , I just want to make sure that I do have all of the parts and put them in correctly . Thank You for your reply .

Has anyone else taken one of these apart lately ? I would like to put it together in the morning and bleed the brake
