Relay assembly

I'm going to give this a partial shot. I believe that the "headlight cutout relay" allows the engine to start before the headlight comes on. Otherwise, as soon as the key was turned on, the headlight would be on. They want to provide as much power for the starter as possible, so the headlight does not come one until the engine is running.

correctomodo Houghy, there is a charging wire which goes to the relay to activiate it as the engine would be running by then.

hmm... interesting. That makes sense. For a kick-only application I could probably just abandon it then..

Thank you. Working on new wire harness. The one I have is messed up from previous owner. wish me luck.

I'm also rewiring my rats nest of a wiring system and I was thinking, could I just wire my lights to my Ignition key switch to make them on there "own circuit"....Like a car and how you can turn the key and just get the light be for you start the engine? or am i just dreaming that I can do something like this
